Modeling and Simulation Java Developer/Analyst

The candidate will support the development, execution, and analysis of several advanced air and missile defense simulation systems and mustbe willing and able to dive deep into the missile defense simulation codebase and output to understand system behavior, identify system issues, and troubleshoot problems. It will be important for the candidate to have a strong working knowledge of Java programming to accomplish this task.

The candidate must be interested in developing a broad understanding of advanced air and missile defense system of systems andbe able to communicate and visualize system performance, behavior, and issues to an audience that includes stakeholders with technical and non-technical backgrounds.

The candidate must also have excellent communication skills as they will be coordinating with personnel throughout the organization to develop concepts and features.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or other STEM degrees from an ABET accredited school.
• Experience with Linux and MS Windows environments.
• Proficiency with Java.
• A willingness to analyze an existing software codebase to understand system behavior.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Candidate must be comfortable working in a multi-contractor/government seamless environment.
• Travel may be required for this position.
• The position requires that the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in the candidate being ineligible for this position.

DESIRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Programming in Python, MATLAB, and XML in a Linux and/or Windows based development environment.
• Proficiency with Python libraries including Pandas, Numpy, MatplotLib, Plotly, etc.
• Knowledge of the Linux environment to perform scripting and navigate efficiently.
• Understanding of machine learning algorithms & principles (regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models, supervised classification, and unsupervised learning), and their application
• Experience with building and training neural networks
• Good applied statistics skills (distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.)
• Proficiency with source code management tools (GIT).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
• Knowledge and experience with Agile system development practices.
