Position Summary

Caribou Thunder is seeking a talented Modeling & Simulation Release Train Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency. As an Agile Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will play a critical role in facilitating Agile Release Train processes and execution.

Complete Description

As a Modeling & Simulation Release Train Engineer at Caribou Thunder, you will be responsible for developing and implementing SAFe engineering and management best practices, metrics, and audit practices.

• You will ensure that value is being delivered to the customer and align technical, business, and execution strategies.
• One of your key responsibilities will be to remove impediments to progress and escalate issues when necessary.
• Proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing risks will be crucial to your role.
• In this position, you will build and support multiple self-organizing teams that encompass a range of technical disciplines, from software engineering to cybersecurity to testing automation.
• You will provide support and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning efforts and execution.
• Practicing servant leadership and championing the Agile mindset through coaching and mentoring will be an integral part of your role.
• As the Modeling & Simulation Release Train Engineer, you will collect, analyze, and report metrics to identify trends and indicators.
• Additionally, you will participate in Earned Value Management tracking and reporting. Some travel, up to 25%, may be required.

Minimum Requirements

• Familiarity with Missile Defense, Missile Warning, and Space Situational Awareness missions
• Background in software development or software development management
• Knowledge of System Engineering principles and requirements management
• Experience transitioning teams from Waterfall to Agile methods and practices
• Certification in one or more of the following designations is desired: Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Certified Scrum at Scale Practitioner, Certified Agile Coach, Certified Facilitator, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Trainer, and Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Experience implementing Agile principles and practices within DoD or Federal government environments
• Experience interacting with Government Stakeholders
• Proficiency in end-to-end Agile Engineering practices, including value stream or Scrum or Extreme Programming within the software, infrastructure, hardware, and operational environments
• Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management tools, preferably JIRA
• Understanding of Earned Value Management principles
