Modeling Simulation Xil Engineer
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Understand the design, manufacturing, and operation of the products you perform Modeling and Simulation on
- Gather project-related information through internal and external sources
- Together with engineers in various disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc) to develop high-fidelity physics-based models and their reduced-order versions
- Integrate various models into a system model to enable co-simulation
- Use system identification to develop plant models
- Develop controllers and tune parameters to enable robust controls
- Deliver results per defined key project milestones along with team members and collaborators
- Present project progress updates to stakeholders and management
- Develop domain expertise and share knowledge with peers and the engineering community
- Implement and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) setup, to run plant model in real time
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering with a specialty in Mechatronics, Systems, or Controls; a Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Fresh-out graduates or experienced professionals are welcome to apply. Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is a plus.
- Extensive experience in model-based controls, system modeling, and scientific programming (MatLab Simulink, C/C++, Python) is essential.
- Experience with National Instrument VeriStand, TestStand, and PXI system
- Experience in firmware development is a bonus.
- Knowledge of sensor technologies, signal processing, data science, statistical analysis, machine learning, and cloud computing is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of DevOps related to GIT version control and creation/maintenance of build/test pipe is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Autonomous and creative approach towards challenging problems.
