Valon Lending
Valon is currently scaling up its mortgage lending business, which aims to provide the ability to access low-cost, streamlined mortgage credit to Valon borrowers and tools to retain borrowers in their portfolio for Valon partners. We are looking for experienced and innovative individuals to help build our team and business who are eager to change the mortgage industry for the better.
About this Role
The Post-Closing Manager will be responsible for managing post-closing, loan delivery, government insuring, final docs, interim servicing, and manual fulfillment for the mortgage division at Valon Mortgage. In addition, the Post-Closing Manager will scan, document, and track all trailing documents and delivery to the appropriate investors within the required timeframe for the loan to be purchased. This position will assist senior management with new initiatives and system procedures and processes to align with Agency and investor requirements.
Responsibilities
- Fully manage the post-closing pipeline at a high level of performance along key metrics, including suspense rate, sale times, and reconciliation accuracy
- Manage and train the post-closing team as it grows
- Develop policies, procedures, metrics, and tools to enable the post-closing team to execute at a higher level
- Review Closing disclosures, Case Number Assignments, Title Commitments, Insurance Policies, PMI Certifications, and all loan documents for accuracy
- Track, monitor and ensure all post-closing conditions are satisfied
- Maintain open lines of communication with all parties to obtain loan status information
- Register and transfer MIN numbers
- Verify receipt of file with Investor and update LOS
- Research outstanding trailing documents; contact title companies, escrow agents, and/or third parties
- Manage document corrections and re-recordings of Mortgage/Deed of Trust
- Manage all post-closing borrower engagements, including obtaining additional documentation, sending revised disclosures, sending cures, and collecting, tracking, and reconciling any payments due before the loan is transferred to the investor
- Respond to and resolve audit findings
- Work with Valon’s team and/or investors to resolve any issues that may be required for a loan to be purchased
- Manage multiple priorities while delivering loans accurately and timely
- Improve and maintain quality and performance of the post-closing team
- Create reporting to provide meaningful feedback to line of business managers
Ideal Background
- Encompass experience preferred
- 8+ years of mortgage post-closing experience
- Prior knowledge of working with direct investors and warehouse lines preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
 Minimum Qualifications
- 8-10 years mortgage industry experience (i.e. LO, processor, UW, or closing experience/post-closing)
- 8+ years of loan post-closing experience
- Strong understanding of mortgage lending including operations and mortgage compliance – must be knowledgeable in TRID
- Deep familiarity with LE’s, CD’s, and other mortgage disclosures
- 5+ years of using Encompass LOS (ICE Mortgage/Ellie Mae)
- Understanding of the CFPB and other federal regulations including, but not limited to, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, TRID, Fair Housing, Reg B, and HMDA
- Strong organization, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- High integrity with strong ethical values
- Team player with the ability to work effectively with a variety of team members
- Ability to efficiently multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment
