Job Description

Bungie Creative Studios, the player-facing artistic and visual brand development arm of Bungie, is seeking a talented Motion Graphics Lead to join our ranks of industry leading designers, artists and brand creators. Our ideal candidate will lead a team of designers and artists, internally and externally, to deliver trailers and media content for Bungie Publishing and its game marketing. You will collaborate with a talented group of directors, brand designers, editors, game capture artists and producers to create ground-breaking work that extends into all our major marketing videos and media. You are an expert in industry trends and pipelines within motion graphics and can bring that expertise to the forefront in all your work.

Trailers are crucial to our ongoing marketing content and this role will be crucial in establishing workflows and processes as we grow. You will work closely with our Creative Studios Leadership, marketing, art and creative leads to deliver the best possible motion graphics for Destiny 2 and our future projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the motion graphics pipeline for trailers and marketing media, defining what success looks like and building the house style for Creative Studios
  • Design, build and animate complex motion graphics within our Destiny 2 and Bungie style guides across all marketing media
  • Concept, Design and Review motion graphics across our Creative Studios work streams with internal and external vendors, ensure design accuracy and quality across projects
  • Work closely with directors, producers, editors, brand designers and capture artists to create assets under tight deadlines with quick project turnover
  • Knowledge of current industry-standard post-production workflows and organization
  • Accomplish projects within deadline-driven timelines
  • Collaborate closely with a cross functional team of designers, art directors, producers, editors and post-production specialists to create stunning industry shaping design and advertising content for Bungie

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Demo reel or online portfolio
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of professional motion graphics experience in a film, animation, television, or videogame cinematics environment
  • Mastery of Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro (or equivalent editing suite) as well as other Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Thorough understanding of digital and social media platform delivery requirements
  • Working knowledge of Cinema 4D or other 3D applications for motion graphics
  • Strong familiarity with current trends in design and animation
  • Understanding and passion of design fundamentals such as typography, composition, and how graphic design can be most effect in communicating ideas, big and small
  • Demonstrated experience successfully working with a cross-disciplinary creative team; experience in a creative or ad agency environment preferred

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Multimedia/New Media, Web Design, Graphic Design or related field
  • A combination of education and experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree
  • Experience directing or working with freelancers and/or creative agencies
  • Passion for Games
  • Familiarity with Bungie’s current and past releases

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective full-time employees located outside of CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI will need to establish residency in one of the states we are compliant in within 45 days of a start date. Contractors will follow a digital first approach adhering to the location guidelines agreed upon by our third-party employer/vendor and Bungie. Bungie’s remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.
