Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Modeling and Simulation Engineer to perform hypersonic vehicle and missile defense system modeling. In this role you will support the Missile Defense Agency Targets and Countermeasures Directorate (MDA/TC) Reactive Target Simulation (RTS) team. The RTS team develops and evaluates models and simulations of the latest hypersonic vehicle concepts for MDA and other OSD stakeholders. You will work with a growing, highly talented team to assess vehicle designs and produce data products which will inform analyses and leadership decisions at the working and executive levels. You'll also have the opportunity to broaden your skills in a multitude of engineering disciplines including trajectory optimization, vehicle signatures, thermal constraints, computational fluid dynamics, Guidance Navigation and Control, and more.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform modeling and simulation in MATLAB, AFSIM, or other industry standard tools for new and emerging hypersonic target designs
  • Design and execute optimization, parametric, and Monte Carlo studies of hypersonic vehicle flight performance
  • Perform independent evaluation of performance and mission utility of promising hypersonic concepts
  • Produce comparisons of IR and RF signature predictions to Intelligence agency assessments
  • Provide evaluations of impacts of predicted signatures to sensor systems
  • Evaluate and modify CAD models for use in aerodynamic and signature prediction tools

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in STEM and 5+ years of experience
  • Active Secret Security clearance
  • Expertise in MATLAB and other industry standard modeling and simulation tools
  • Foundation in missile flight dynamics and/or flight controls

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

    Modeling and simulation of sensor and weapon systems
  • Proficiency in STK, AFSIM, LINUX, Python

    Proficiency in trajectory modeling tools, such as Quickshot or TAOS
  • Enthusiasm and capacity to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Additional proficiencies in one or more of the following domain areas: thermal, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), GNC and aerodynamic modeling and simulation
  • Active Top Secret SCI Security clearance

Salary Range:

$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
