The MSE Specialist plays a critical function at the RCR Facility. Our associates are at the heart of everything that we do. The MSE (Mars Supply Excellence) Specialist supports the implementation of TPM as the standard way of working. The MSE Specialist supports the overall advancement of TPM standards, practices, systems, and associate capability. The purpose of Mars Supply Excellence is the deployment of standards and practices to eliminate deviations and deliver sustainable change leveraging the Five Principles and the Six Mindsets & Behaviors. The successful candidate will provide, through MSE, cross-functional expertise developing and facilitating implementation of standard tools to drive operational excellence across all site functions. Additionally, the role ensures that the factory runs smoothly and supports other tasks such as associate recognition, event planning, community services, and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the overall Mars Supply Excellence strategies for the site.
  • Work closely training and coaching all associates on MSE (Mars TPM Program) standards, meeting cadence, health checks, 90-day plan, 1 year implementation plan, project charter, KPI's and recognition, step up cards, step audits.
  • Work closely with different pillars to support the deployment of MSE, incorporating changes that will incur to the workplace and the operational roles and responsibilities as we develop through the stages of MSE.
  • Active member of the E&T and Safety pillars, owning the Knowledge Transfer essential element
  • Support maintenance of site safety standards/programs
  • Support focused improvement projects/charters in conjunction with the FI pillar and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Support the problem-solving management process and root cause analysis on process interruptions utilizing Mars problem-solving methodologies with the FI and FMOS pillars.
  • Ensure that area/equipment performance boards are aligned and in agreement with the Factory Mars Operating System (FMOS) performance boards and advance the digitization of the process.
  • Support the implementation of CMMS/eMaint with the PM pillar.
  • Participate in the implementation of AM activities, as well as development of Autonomous Work Teams (AWT) on new pieces of equipment.
  • Participate in the sustainment of AM / AWT on existing pieces of equipment through health checks, daily / weekly audits and feedback to zone owners.
  • Participate in shift AWT activities and provide AM leadership to associates on shift.
  • Conduct periodic scheduled health checks on equipment modules that have passed Step 3
  • Ensure appropriate knowledge management methodologies are applied to maintain, share and update recorded knowledge within the site's information structure.
  • Training & Coaching on all E&T processes, systems, and tools
  • Manage Uniform Program through contract services to ensure both uniform and supply needs are met.
  • Owns associate separation checklist completion verification and locker management.
  • Manage office supply inventories for the site.
  • Deliver new hire orientation to ensure successful onboarding for new associates according to standard.
  • Manage all necessary plant communication i.e., Birthdays, P&O Updates, Pension, Benefits, Business Update
  • Coordinates All Associate's Day, Annual site party, holiday luncheons, service awards and site giveaways.
  • Organizes visits to Site from associates across the globe including Mars family members, ambassador program visitors, state and local officials. Manage donation activities with Site and Community
  • Represent the site as the Mars Volunteer Program Champion
  • Provide administrative support as required.
  • Other admin tasks and other duties as assigned.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Standing on a concrete floor
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, earplugs, safety shoes, and uniform)
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55lbs
  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt, and chemicals.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20

Knowledge / Experience

Education & Professional Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Background in manufacturing environment
  • MSE experience
  • Demonstrated competency in MS Office Suite, POKA and Weever
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of high importance at one time.
  • Ability to readjust work priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree - Engineering, Supply or Technical field of study
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing and TPM environment.
