We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

PayPal, Inc. seeks MTS 2, Machine Learning Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Analyze different business objectives and business technology stacks driving PayPal’s current sales pipeline, identify technical inefficiencies, and perform ideation, research, discovery, development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of quantitative solutions to resolve inefficiencies. Engineer, manage, and model data, and execute standard ETL techniques including extract, de-duping, cleansing, integration, and aggregation to identify various data attributes and sources consumed by PayPal’s business operations and set up data pipelines to consume them. Mine, extract and manipulate large datasets using common tools such as Notebooks, SQL, SAS, and Hadoop and related programming/scripting languages. Build data science models that ingest data and output: business insights, viable technical solutions to business problems, and recommendations to help achieve defined business objectives. Analyze data science model results to showcase how the model interprets the intricacies of PayPal’s current business practices to produce useful, data-driven results that can influence critical business decisions and outcomes in a matrix-based, global environment. Prepare detailed reports to communicate the impact of data science models on current business operations and share the reports with business stakeholders and technical development teams to support data-driven business decisions and optimize business strategies. Telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

 Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Operations Research or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered, as a Data Scientist, or a related occupation.

Additional Job Description:

Base salary: $184,662-234,300 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
