Job Opportunity:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Multinational Program Coordinator (MPC). This position will be located in the New York, Chicago, Atlanta, or Boston offices.

The Multinational Program Coordinator for North America serves as a multinational process leader in the region. This role manages individual programs supporting all underwriting teams in the BHSI North American region, providing guidance and direction in the analysis and execution of multinational insurance programs. The MPC will liaise with customers, brokers, network partners, vendors, and other intracompany teams around the globe, and in particular, other MPCs in the execution of multinational programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution of both inbound and outbound multinational programs with the assistance of various proprietary tools and systems to support a rapidly growing multinational business
  • Engage with and serve as the principal day-to-day liaison to network partners in 175 countries, including confirmation of local country support of local underliers as well as related taxes items, subjectivities, and local policy requirements
  • Review underwriting submission materials to assist underwriters with the quoting and binding of local underliers
  • Liaise with various teams at BHSI, including Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Actuarial to address tax and regulatory compliance matters, reinsurance agreements, data management needs, policy issuance items, global invoicing, premium collections, and payments, and assure quality control throughout the lifecycle of multinational programs
  • Correspond with and lead presentations to global customers and brokers
  • Support the continued development of BHSI's multinational processes, tools, and systems
  • Manage designated projects or aspects of BHSI Multinational processes
  • Ensure the effective coordination and working of the territory's MPC team to provide efficient support to all underwriters in the territory

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum 10+ years of commercial insurance experience
  • Significant multinational experience is required
  • In-depth understanding of policy construction, insurance company operations, regulatory requirements, rating, and policy issuance
  • Ability to work across multiple lines of business, global time zones, with teams in other regions, and without local Multinational supervision
  • Strong analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Must be proactive and able to work within a team environment
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written, and presentation skills
  • Competency in MS Office applications

The base salary range for this position is from $120,000 to $140,000, along with annual bonus eligibility; a candidate's salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience. We value our teammates - both their capabilities and character - as demonstrated by our amazing culture.
