Summary

This position serves as a junior Museum Curator for the Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Management Division (JMD), Office of the Assistant Attorney General for Administration (OAAGA), Office of the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Human Resources and Administration (ODAG), Library Staff.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Museum Curator, (GS-1015-13), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to.

Basic Education Requirements for the GS-1015 series:

  1. Degree: museum work; or in an applicable subject-matter field.

    or

  2. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

    or

  3. Four years of experience that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study as shown in A above.
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as: 1.) Policy, planning, evaluation, acquisition, preservation, curation, documentation, and presentation responsibilities. 2.) Visualize use of the museum and its collection in support of learning strategies, commemorations and heritage activities.

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
