The MySQL Database Administrator is responsible for developing and maintaining LCS's databases, setting up database hosts, and ensuring secure storage of company information. Additionally, the Database Administrator will maintain database privileges, tune queries, and ensure the proper operation of database servers.

The MySQL Database Administrator is responsible for developing and maintaining LCS's databases, setting up database hosts, and ensuring secure storage of company information. Additionally, the Database Administrator will maintain database privileges, tune queries, and ensure the proper operation of database servers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform day to day database tasks, including designing, implementing, and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery, and configuration management.
- Maintain responsibility for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of MySQL DB architecture.
- Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
- Profile server resource usage, troubleshoot, optimize, and modify as necessary
- Test new versions of MySQL, and plan and execute migration paths
- Ensure the long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall database systems planning of the organization.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Strong Linux experience
- Strong proficiency in MySQL database management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of best practices in MySQL
- Knowledge of MySQL features
- Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
- Experience using Percona products and tools
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
