NAS Monitoring Team Intern
Job Description
ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking an Intern to join ourteam that supports the Federal Aviation Administration in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This role will make an impact by meeting the future needs of our FAA customer that includes securing data across networks in theenterprise.
- Works independently under general guidelines or objectives
- The NAS Monitoring Team is looking for an intern that has some experience in full life cycle requirements analysis, design, test, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems
- Specifically, experience in infrastructure support with physical lab setup of server and network equipment and cabling would be ideal
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Serve as a member of the team that is deeply involved in the NAS Monitoring Team infrastructure applications
- Work collaboratively with a team or as an individual on each assigned project to meet deadlines and deliverables
- Assess, configure and maintain technological Infrastructure to ensure it meets organizational goals
- Participate in Commercial off-The Shelf (COTS) analysis, planning, and implementation for infrastructure hosted system(s)
- Communicating, both in writing and in person, with a variety of audiences, including team members, management, and stakeholders, regarding approach and issues
- Troubleshooting skills, critical thinking, and the ability to interact with users of all levels of expertise; perform effectively in a team environment or alone and unsupervised
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
- Monitoring and performing on-going maintenance on servers and network equipment
- Providing IT lab support to staff and customers, as well as responding to server and network issues
- Running hardware diagnostics and replacing failing parts in a timely manner
- Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables
- Advising on the procurement of new data center equipment
- Detail oriented in documentation and motivated in learning
- Work with multiple teams and excellent communication
Preferred:
- Experience in maintaining hardware inventory
- Understanding of power drawings, power panels, rack power consumption
- Experience in project management is a plus

- US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
- Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
- Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust
