National Intelligence Officer for Military Issues

Mandatory Requirements:

Recognized expertise in military analysis and knowledge of the IC's military analytic community across regional and functional programs. Understanding of IC collection capabilities to help identify collection requirements.

Exhibit expert capability to direct interagency, interdisciplinary IC teams against a range of functional and/or regional analytical issues.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and management skills to conceptualize and effectively lead complex analytic projects.

Expert leadership and managerial capabilities, including the ability to effectively direct tasking, assess and manage performance, and support personal and professional development of all levels of personnel.

Ability to work with and fairly represent the IC when analytic views differ among agencies.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to exert influence with senior leadership and communicate effectively with people at all staff levels, both internal and external to the organization, to give oral presentation and to otherwise represent the NIC interagency meetings.

Proven critical thinking skills and the ability to prepare finished intelligence assessments and other written products with an emphasis on clear organization, concise, and logical presentation.

Superior argumentation and editing skills to prepare camera-ready products

Establish, guide, and oversee ODNI and IC working groups, boards, and committees, as needed, to support accomplishment of corporate and strategic goals.

Experience or advanced knowledge in military use of a specific or multiple domains (air, maritime, ground, space, etc)

Master's degree or equivalent experience as determined by mission specialty area

Experience working military foundational and regional conflict issues

Experience with conventional and advanced conventional weapons systems
