The National Sales Manager is responsible for managing and developing a field sales team to accomplish company revenue and sales objectives for the fence & rail product category. They will guarantee the implementation of sales strategies and initiatives by providing field insights into customer relationships. Working with one-step, two-step distribution and retail, they will be partnering with the broader team to create a strong customer experience and deliver financial results according to plan.ย
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages individual contributors ensuring the proper training and sales enablement
- Hosts weekly/bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with team to drive account prioritization, planning and results
- Supports individual contributors on high-priority opportunities across the sales process either by reviewing material or attending key meetings
- Supports individual contributors in the development and fostering of relationships with key decision makers and influencers
- Ensures accounts are well attended
- Appraises performance of the sales team; assesses training and development needs, recommends personal and professional developmental programs as indicated
- Analyzes market potential within a given geographical area including market trends and other relevant facts, report findings to Sales Leadership
- Establishes annual and regional sales projections by products and recommend programs to ensure level sales volume based on Sales team feedback
- Direct accountability for national accounts
- Maintains a sales force capable of achieving annual sales goals
- Supervises all associates in the department, evaluating performance, provide coaching, counseling and a corrective action plan as required by CBB policies
- Enforces budgetary controls over all departmental expense categories to adhere to planned budgetary levels at all times and minimize expenses wherever possible
- Cooperates with the Credit Department when needed to assure new customers and programs are adequately screened to increase the paying quality of customers while decreasing the credit risk
- Participates in strategic planning and provides leadership and guidance in carrying out Action Plans relative to CBB goals and objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or comparable discipline preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted
- Seven yearsโ experience in a Sales/Marketing position with proven managerial capability
- A thorough knowledge of the building products industry and sales management experience
- Problem solving and sales negotiation skills are a must
- Ability to lead and motivate a sales team
- General knowledge of major competitive building product lines
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to develop and present training programs required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows such as Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Requires travel (40 โ 80%)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 to $140,000 + sales incentive + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week.)
