Naval Architect
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct/technical evaluations of structural analysis and load calculations to ensure the sound design and compliance meeting naval requirements.
- Specialized experience in troubleshooting and assessment, repair, and maintenance of ship structures on naval ships.
- Specialized hands-on experience working and inspecting ship structures, tank, voids, intakes/exhaust systems knowledge of welding requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge about sheet metal, preservation, insulation, piping and electrical systems on naval ships.
- Utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for reviewing and compiling information for data entry and transferring files and electronic/digital scans. Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Maintain, organize, track status, and prioritize engineering documents (both physical and electronic records).
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- 5 years of increasing engineering management responsibility is required, including at least 2 years of USG ship or submarine construction or repair/overhaul experience.
- Foreign Military Sales experience.
- Ability to obtain a secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance.
