NDE Level II Inspector (PAUT, UT)

Vast is looking for an NDE Level II Inspector (PAUT, UT), reporting to the NDE Supervisor, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach, CA location. The NDE Operations organization at Vast is an inclusive, interdisciplinary team that is committed to providing high quality inspections of flight components and production assemblies. The breadth of exposure as an NDE Level II Inspector is immense, as the organization is responsible for a large diversity of inspection types across our space programs. Responsibilities: 

• Perform volumetric NDE inspections with advanced phased array ultrasonics equipment.
• Interpret, evaluate, communicate, and report findings to Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
• Interpret engineer drawing callouts, effectively communicating features and findings as required.
• Support the development of NDE Inspection techniques for complex geometries.
• Assist in cross-functional learning objectives supporting continuous growth of the NDE team.
• Support R&D into full matrix capture PAUT for operational improvement and optimization

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a level II NDE Inspector/Technician.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineer drawings and GD&T callouts.
• NDE level II certification in line with ASNT-TC-1A/NAS-410 or DoD guidance in (UT & PAUT).
• Operational experience of utilizing UT & PAUT systems for the inspection of weldments.
• Full documentation of "On Job Training" hours in UT & PAUT
• Documentation on training (that included an exam) of UT level II and PAUT.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of basic Standards such as; AS, AMS, AWS, NAS410, ASME, ASTM
• Knowledge of Olympus Tomoview UT software, and experience using portable digital UT equipment such as Olympus EPOCH 650, Omniscan X3 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience in automating and running a PAUT system
• Experience in establishing and writing NDE techniques
• Experience working with engineering teams in both R&D and manufacturing environments

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted

•  NDELevel II Inspector: $25.64 - $38.58
