SUMMARY:

This position is assigned to be the Responsible Level III per NAS 410 for multiple sites located in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. Manage the qualification and certification of NDT personnel to NAS 410, audit NDT systems at the facility and handle compliance of all NDT processes and systems. The NDT Level III shall be recognized internally and externally as a technical expert in their field. They are to be competent to act as a technical liaison representing PCC as a prime technical contact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and verify work instructions for NDT methods in compliance with customer specification and requirements.
  • Train, test and certify NDT inspectors in the method(s) and techniques certified per the latest revision of PCC's Quality Control procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret inspection quality data, conduct research on product defects, and recommend modification in products or quality standards, where such appear to be warranted.
  • Serve as liaison with customers on NDT related inspection and visit customers and suppliers where necessary on specific inspection matters.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to sales, engineering and manufacturing on NDT issues with regards to customer inquiries.
  • Perform system audits on all NDT areas and personnel of assigned campus and annex.
  • Assist in the development of new NDT process and procedures with regards to new technology and customer approval of that technology.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and government regulations as pertaining to the inspection departments, including ability to interpret code standards and other contractual documents.
  • Maintain compliance to all relative Nadcap program requirements.
  • Develop new inspection methods and/or programs that promote cost reduction activities.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
  • *Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs.
  • Meet established attendance standards.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Requires a BS degree in engineering or related discipline or 5 - 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical or material science along with fastener testing.
  • Previously Certified level III in Penetrant (PT). Level III in magnetic particle (MT) or other methods may be required
  • Must have excellent communication and analytical skills.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

/*generated inline style */ For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $103,300 to $154,900 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
