ASRC Federal is looking for a Network Administrator I to provide the technical expertise and operational support necessary to implement, maintain, and support the network infrastructure for the Department of State's Foreign Service Institute's (FSI) AV network.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the technical expertise and operational support necessary to implement, maintain, and support the network infrastructure for FSI's AV network which includes but not limited to:

    • Network design, implementation, and administration
    • Network security administration
    • Generating formal network documentation
    • Configuring and Supporting Network hardware and software systems
    • Configuring network operating system software
    • Building, deploying, patching, securing, and maintaining network devices
    • Analyzing and monitoring network logs
    • Configuring and maintaining Cisco 6509-E and 4500 switches and Cisco access switches for ten-gigabit connectivity and high-availability
    • Configuring and maintaining Cisco CSACS (Cisco Secure Access Control Access Server) TACACS servers and TACACS/ RADIUS network device configurations
    • Configuring and maintaining LH and SX fiber connectivity for gigabit and ten-gigabit campus interconnectivity using Department of State DS configuration standards


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or five (5) years of additional experience

  • Required Knowledge/Experience:

    • Must have a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in relevant field
    • Must possess one of the following:

      • Cisco
      • CCNA
      • Microsoft MCP

    • Engineering experience with CISCO Routers and Switches
    • Experience maintaining and configuring Cisco switches, Cisco routers, VLANs, and multicasting technologies
    • Engineering experience of LAN/ WAN connectivity technologies including Long Haul, Short Haul Fiber, fiber types of interfaces and distance lengths, gigabit and ten gigabit Ethernet, spanning tree protocols, and wireless technologies
    • Engineering experience and hands-on experience with inter-site enterprise location connections including WAN circuits, circuit encryption, TLS technologies, and Cisco router configuration
    • Engineering and hands-on experience with AV Networks and IP deployments
    • Engineering experience of LAN administration; Internet protocols, servers and services; Cisco campus-based routing and switching, Cisco DMZ based routing and switching
    • Experience in a Windows-based (2008/Windows 7 or higher) client/server environment with the ability to successfully adapt current environment to higher versions (e.g., Windows 2012 or higher server/Windows 10 or higher client)
    • Significant experience as a member of a team and directly assisting end-user clientele, positive interpersonal skills, and a customer-service orientation

  • Required Clearance:

    • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:

    • Knowledge of A/V technologies and how they relate to IT infrastructure
    • Strong Cisco switch experience
    • Experience configuring and deploying Cisco routers and switches
    • Technical understand of A/V technologies and IT systems and how they integrate
