The role
SFM's IT department is growing and is adding a Network Administrated who has experience working with a variety of networks such as WAN, LAN or VPN. At SFM, the Network Administrator acts as a specialized Systems Administrator focused on networking technologies such as, routers, switches , DMZ, and SSL/VPN. The role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting information and network infrastructure technology. You will preserve company resources and maintains high standards of professionalism, ethics and customer service. This position provides high-level technical support for domain network. Responsibilities
- Provides technical implementation and administration of networking technologies including switches, routers, VLANs, VPN's, LAN/WAN, wireless, and external connections such as Internet, Disaster Recovery site, and remote offices.
- Preserves the safety and integrity of all network systems and data while minimizing downtime for critical systems, including maintaining highly available and redundant network configurations.
- Creates and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes and service records.
- Supports VoIP networking infrastructure including periodic updates to routers, switches and related devices.
- Acts as a security Committee member and attends the monthly Security Committee meetings providing updates to discussion topics and action items identified during these meetings.
- Maintains the availability and performance of network and communication systems by monitoring key network metrics and software parameters.
- Follows company best practices and departmental and team customer service for problem resolution and tracking. Communicates status to customers in a timely manner and delivers excellent customer service.
- Takes advantage of learning opportunities to develop, update and expand knowledge, skills, and abilities, and applies them to current job, and also seeks out additional learning opportunities related to the Organizations structure and business functions.
We're looking for
- Associate degree in computer-related discipline, preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in Network or Systems Infrastructure Support.
- Current industry standard certification such as Comp TIA Network+, CCENT, CCNA, preferred.
- Experience working with security technologies including firewalls and secure authentication.
- Knowledge with technologies such as router configuration and monitoring, network switch configuration and monitoring, wireless, SSL/VPN, TCP/IP, VLAN, DMZ, DNS and Internet networking technologies.
- Ability to provide solid levels of system up-time by proactively maintaining systems and security protocols.
- Ability to follow directions, understand and adhere to team procedures and company best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on documenting abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with a variety of users.
- Displays integrity, respect, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrates a desire to learn and acquire certifications as needed
- Highly organized and accurate with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently with minimal direction along with ability to work within a team setting.
- Good prioritization skills and able to achieve goals in a deadline driven environment to in a dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements
Regular attendance is required. Work takes place in a semi paperless environment within an office setting, either on business premises or remote location, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, which requires being stationary for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and work with close vision. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Work is performed indoors with little to no exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions.
