This position is directly responsible for the day to day operation of the overall LAN/WAN environment including all Routers, Switches, VPNs, Firewalls, and adjunct network devices. The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the maximum level of availability for the network and will drive continuous improvement in operational procedures, standards and network design to achieve this goal. Additionally, s/he will provide guidance and mentoring to other members of the team as well as work directly with the Sr. system Admin and IT Director to optimize the network design and lights-on support procedures. The ideal candidate will be Cisco certified and have 2 or more years of direct experience designing and supporting complex LAN/WAN environments including support for remote offices and locations.

Qualifications:

  • Develop appropriate implementation plan for analysis, installation and support of Voice & Data network and system solutions
  • Support all aspects of the voice and data networks, including installation, administration, maintenance and support for firewalls, switches, servers and equipment
  • A thorough understanding of configuring a LAN including: VLAN, QOS, ACLs, routing, switching
  • Primary internal POC for VoIP/Data network issues. Work directly with the Sr. Sys Admin and IT Director
  • Ensure technical systems and solutions are operating at optimal levels at all times and ensure overall system readiness
  • Identify research and resolve technical problems related to VoIP/WAN/Data Networking hardware, software, and systems
  • Design, integrate, implement and manage VoIP, WAN, Data Solutions, and server infrastructures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with network hardware and, in conjunction with the network provider, support and ensure the quality and reliability of the IP backbone
  • Track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution of internal action items
  • Document and complete all changes in accordance with accepted Change Management policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential to the role
  • Position requires exceptional analytical thinking and superior customer management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft AD, Exchange, and MS Office
  • Proficient in Cisco networks, and VOIP
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and a willingness to work multiple projects as needed
  • Candidate must be a determined, positive, and versatile individual that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot various network issues including latency, collisions, overall performance etc.
  • Familiarity with business VPNs, current networking technologies and security systems
  • Familiarity with server rooms and backup power systems.
  • Configuring monitoring and alerting software
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 administration
  • VMWare vSphere administration
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 administration in a multisite DAG environment
  • iSCSI SAN experience preferred, Compellent a plus
  • Setup and Manage computers, users and policy in Active Directory
  • Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC's, Laptops, servers, Printers, Copiers, IP-PBX telephony solution, network equipment's, and software applications.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Provides emergency on-call support
  • Participate in weekend maintenance activities, as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Some lifting up to 60 lbs may be required

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Must have strong technical proficiency with current data network equipment in use
  • 2-4 years hands-on technical experience desired (administration preferred)
  • Network Operations experience in a NOC environment.
  • Cisco troubleshooting experience
  • Direct working experience with SonicWALL firewall and VPN infrastructure
  • Must have at a minimum a Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification
  • CCNP or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience with Ruckus wireless controller and Aps preferred
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 administration experience
  • VMWare vSphere administration experience
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 administration
