Job Description

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Network Administrator located at Wright Patterson AFB. The Network Administrator, supporting the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform day-to-day IT issue resolution for the Center's teaching and research laboratories. Provides classroom laboratory support for cyber-attack and exploitation courses
  • Provide networking solutions as well as support of all hardware/software needs, and configurations requested. The Contractor shall support students, faculty, and staff within the CCR as well
  • Provide computer network solutions, security solutions, and hardware/software support as well as equipment custodian duties, to include CACRL accountability management of lab testing and research equipment
  • Maintain and operate the VTC (video teleconference) systems as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Requires at least 3 years of DoD and private sector experience in information security, computer networking, and system administration
  • Associate's degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field
  • Experience in system administration and computer networking to include administering local area networks (LANs), troubleshooting systems, and hardware/software deployment
  • Expert in system security administration for Microsoft Windows (all versions), Mac OS X, and Linux/Unix
  • Security +, or Network + required
  • Experience with 3D modeling software and printers highly desired
  • Personnel supporting this requirement must have and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Personnel shall satisfy the Journeyman Skill Level requirement (JOURNEYMAN: Has the knowledge, experience and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline they are performing. Has the ability to work independently and apply the proper procedures and process related to their area of expertise. Also can problem solve and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines)
  • BA/BS, ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD
  • OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, five of which must be in the DoD
