Network Administrator
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Network Administrator will be responsible for Information Technology (IT) support for local Hudson, Massachusetts, and remote employees of the company. This individual is responsible for providing IT help for maintaining computer systems, network infrastructure, server systems, and end-user support, network design, enhancements, and security of IT systems; network equipment, server systems, data storage, VOIP, and end-user devices for the entire company.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain networks and systems including software, VPNs, and network equipment.
- Install and configure network equipment and software/hardware updates.
- Monitor systems to keep data and communications protected.
- Monitor computer systems to improve computer/network performance.
- Enhance computer systems to improve computer/network performance & security.
- Responsible for security and access methods of Cloud/Online based applications.
- Manage configuration and troubleshoot issues of network equipment.
- Develop and maintain network documentation of all systems in all locations.
- Cyber threat and security policy development and implementation.
- Develop training material for end users on security threat management & best practices.
- Participate in developing and managing DR and business continuity practices.
- Manage and organize network equipment & cabling.
- Monitor firewall, switches, and routers for internal and external threats.
- Manage configuration and issues of network equipment periodically.
- Set up new user computers and computer peripherals.
- Manage and implement software and hardware updates.
- Support maintaining network documentation of all systems in all locations.
- Responsible for all servers, VMs, and manufacturing/testing computer backups.
- Monitor, backup and optimize Microsoft SQL server.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, IT management, computer science, or related field or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience within a level 2 or level 3 IT environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Windows Active directory management.
- Microsoft HyperV Virtual Servers.
- Fortinet switches, firewalls, access points.
- Network design schema LAN/WAN.
- Wi-Fi and VPN set-up.
- VOIP systems.
- Software network licensing management, CAD, and other similar software.
- Backup and recovery for Cloud, onsite, and remote systems and applications.
- Support end-users with Set-up and Troubleshooting needs.
- Preferred software involvement:
- Microsoft Windows server 2016 and higher.
- Microsoft HyperV Virtualization.
- Microsoft 0365.
- VEEAM backup.
- Fortinet firewalls, switches, APs.
- JIRA, Confluence.
- Microsoft SQL or similar.
- Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting.
