The Role

We are looking for an experienced Network and Systems Engineer to serve as the subject matter expert for everything related to our internal network infrastructure. As part of the Global IT Operations team, you will rely on industry best practices as you optimize our physical networks, patch and secure company systems, and design network architecture for any new office locations in the future. You’ll serve as a key contact between VaynerX and our managed network partners, offering guidance and when required, getting “hands on” to ensure our team has a reliable and secure experience when working from the office. You’ll frequently partner with a variety of internal stakeholders, including the IT Security team, the IT Helpdesk Team, C-Level leadership and others, bringing a vision of modernizing our infrastructure and lending your support as technical challenges arise. 

Your biggest challenge will be designing solutions for a globally-distributed team working from 30+ countries around the world. For our office locations, the goal is to provide an optimal WiFi experience for our users (who are mostly on Macs), and ensure that our onsite network hardware is patched, maintained, and refreshed on an ongoing basis. You’ll review reports of performance issues with the network and work directly with end users to identify root causes and come up with remediation plans. You’ll be expected to create documentation and network diagrams, ensuring we have a bird’s eye view of our entire global infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Configure, monitor, and maintain all network-related components in our North America office locations, including:
• Network switches
• Wifi access points
• Uplinks
• Office interconnect tunnels
• Firewalls
• Configure, monitor, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure and dependent services, including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and Hyper-V
• Maintain and monitor internal file storage solutions (NAS) and any associated onsite or cloud backup processes
• Troubleshoot network problems; schedule upgrades; perform network analysis, root cause analysis and optimization
• Harden our cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Wordpress), implementing industry best practices around data security and network-related security controls
• Optimize VaynerX networks for excellent WiFi performance for both employees and guests
• Manage relationships with vendors, outsourced managed service providers, ISPs, or other points of contact
• Serve as a primary stakeholder for the planning and implementation of any new office build outs from a network perspective
• Partner with IT Security on any cross-functional security initiatives and serve as the subject matter expert for network-related topics
• Contribute as a technical resource for the IT Support team and respond to escalated requests coming out of our internal ticketing system
• Ensure that network documentation and diagrams are up to date
• Ensure uptime and monitoring of all corporate network infrastructure and circuits

Desired Experience:

• Strong knowledge of network design and applications, designing IP addressing hierarchy, and routing and switching technologies
• Knowledge of wireless design, technologies, and wireless site survey tools
• Experience with network design or support of public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, ect)
• Experience with networking manufacturers such as Ruckus Networks or Cisco Meraki
• Strong experience in supporting complex global network in SaaS environments
• Demonstrated experience with APIs, automation, reporting, and some coding experience
• Experience supporting Google Workspace environments and Mac laptops in an enterprise environment
• Strong attention to detail and skilled in creating documentation and network diagrams
• Excellent communication skills and a knack for explaining complex technical concepts in simple terms
