You, serving as our Network and Automation Engineer will manage the plant production network and controls integration to develop the site automation strategy. Your primary focus will be on PLC and controls design structure and standardization with emphasis on digitization and IIoT implementation. Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintenance and documentation of all OT network components at the site
- You will serve as the contact person for all changes, extensions and clean-ups in the OT network (cabling and network cabinets)
- Serve as main contact person for all external service providers of the telecommunications and IT infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with internal and external (IT / OT) guidelines, e.g. responsible for routine backups of all data files for recovery
- Coordinate with regional and global Clariant cybersecurity projects, support & implement efforts on site
- You will handle Network segmentation (firewalls) in coordination with the AUT / IT teams
- Responsibility for selection and implementation of new instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, DCS systems. This is in coordination with Plant & Project Engineers, Contractors, and Maintenance
- Support on instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, DCS system maintenance
- Responsible for implementation of PIMS systems and correlated historian / data analytical software
- You will assist with planning, setting up and operating external data connections (remote maintenance, etc.)
- Support for site-specific OT/IT solutions (mobile maintenance, barcode printers, I-Pads, etc.
- Manage our Teamwork approach required with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technical Departments to develop project scope with emphasis on controls requirements
- Work with Corporate Engineering and IT in development IIOT infrastructure and necessary components to facilitate the direction of the business. Including global initiatives with the DIGICAT Team, technical community and sharing practices, development of training paths
- Support the process engineering team for data acquisition, processing and evaluation while also supporting the OPEX team on opportunities and process improvement activities
- Ensure appropriate safety, health and environmental guidelines are followed in project installations
- Develop and maintain function descriptions / control logic / interlocks
- Assist in design, documentation and integration of SIS functions as determined through internal PHA's.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or similar degrees
- You should have at least 1 year of work experience as field technician or PLC programmer (within chemical/industrial/manufacturing plant), with 3+ years of experience being highly desired. A combination of advanced degree and experience will also be considered. Emphasis on Instrument and Control installations highly desired.
- Familiar with Communication protocols Profibus DP/PA, Profinet, Genius, TCPIP, Modbus TCPIP, Serial.
- Also familiar with programming; GE Cimplicity and Machine Edition preferred.
- Experience with OSIsoft PI or other PIMS systems preferred, but not required
- Must have excellent overall computer skills (Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Hands on SAP experience with CMMS - SAP work order system or comparable is preferred but not required.
- Must have demonstrated high level of dependability and punctuality.
- You should be results oriented with ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
