Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Network Engineer at Crexendo, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our network infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and optimizing all network equipment, including switches, routers, and other related devices. In addition, you will work closely with our network architects to design and implement network solutions that meet our business needs and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Design and Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and other network equipment.
• Juniper and Cisco Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience with Juniper and Cisco technologies, including configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Routing Protocols: Proficiency in various network routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP. Configure and optimize routing protocols to ensure efficient traffic flow.
• Network Security: Implement and manage network security measures, including firewall configurations, access control lists, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance and proactively address issues to ensure optimal network operation.
• Network Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address network requirements and constraints.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network issues in a timely manner.
• Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
• Capacity Planning: Perform capacity planning to ensure the network infrastructure meets current and future business needs.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Juniper and Cisco technologies.
• Experience in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, ISIS, MPLS and other protocols).
• Experience with network security, including firewall configurations and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP) a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
