Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure the availability and reliability of network services.
  • Conduct network capacity planning to determine future network infrastructure requirements.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather network requirements and provide solutions that meet business needs.
  • Configure and manage network protocols, such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and QoS, to optimize network performance and traffic management.
  • Identify and resolve network issues and outages in a timely manner, escalating as necessary.
  • Implement and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in network technologies and make recommendations for their adoption as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and select network products and services.
  • Participate in network infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for network-related issues.
  • Conduct network performance analysis and propose optimization strategies to improve network efficiency.
  • Perform regular network audits and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with security standards and policies.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 network support and respond to emergencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven work experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and architectures, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and VPN.
  • Experience with network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Arista.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools to ensure the availability and performance of networks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent, are highly desirable.
