Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing services department. You will be part of an engineering team that is responsible forblah blah blah I decided not to use the Network Engineer templated script because it's boring and we're not your typical boring corporate job!

We're a fast growing startup serving thousands of really cool customers all around the world with interesting network projects, mostly Ubiquiti related but sometimes other vendor equipment is involved too.

About 47% of our customers are based in the US but the rest are all over.

We recently took a team trip to Spain and we plan to do another meetup in Europe next year.

We all work from home, with employees located in USA, UK, Germany, and India. We primarily coordinate with the team over Slack, and assist our customers through live chat, phone, and Zoom.

We're looking for someone who is a huge Ubiquiti fan and in particular knows their way around UniFi and UISP. A lot of the work involves configuring VLANs, VPN connections, wireless point-to-point links, or troubleshooting WiFi coverage and signal issues.

If you've worked for Ubiquiti in the past, or at an MSP that installs Ubiquiti equipment, or a WISP which used Ubiquiti equipment in their networks we'd love to hear from you!

Bonus points if you like Linux, in particular Debian/Ubuntu. We're currently managing over 2,600 VPS instances which each run UniFi, UISP, and Omada software.

Requirements

• Huge Ubiquiti fan
• You enjoy creating systems, processes, documentation, and scripts or no-code automations which make your work easier and more efficient
• You're comfortable working from home with Slack as the primary communication method with your remote team
• You're good working in a customer facing role where communication is just as important as the work being done
• You're confident you can design, install, and troubleshoot networks involving Ubiquiti and other vendor equipment
• US citizenship not required but US business working hours preferred for example within 9am-8pm EST M-F
• Optional: you're interested in leading a team of network engineers as we continue to grow our services operation
