Description

The Network Engineer is responsible for the company's global IT infrastructure installation, maintenance, monitoring, and improvements. This includes communication circuits, firewalls, switches, VPN, Windows and Linux servers, and connectivity between physical offices. The Network Engineer will also work closely with all members of the IT department to build and monitor IT systems for security issues and vulnerabilities and continue to improve the security posture of the company. Continued learning and expanding of abilities is required to stay atop of this competitive market and help ensure our high growth rate.

A successful candidate will have a wide breadth of IT experience while being eager to learn the specifics of InVue's IT systems. They will help build out new solutions, maintain existing ones, be able to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the IT team, and never be afraid to challenge the status quo. They should be outgoing with a friendly demeanor, able to calm frustrated users while remaining composed under pressure. Customer service skills with internal employees is very important in this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Installation, configuration, and administration of:
  • Physical, virtual, and cloud-based server and end-user devices
  • Server, desktop, laptop, and other physical hardware
  • Network connectivity infrastructure, switches, routers, and wireless
  • Identity and access systems
  • On-premise and cloud-based IT security systems
  • VoIP and voice communication systems
  • Backup and recovery of servers and endpoints
  • Troubleshooting global network infrastructure and hardware
  • Ensure all systems are maintained and updated with latest patches
  • Provide technical support for internal employees while tracking and updating helpdesk tickets
  • Use technology to improve the efficiency of all functional areas of the company
  • Communicate technology changes to the organization
  • Serve as on-call IT support for extended periods of time
  • Protect the data assets of the company through good documentation, asset tracking, utilizing good security practices, and following standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work individually on a task or project, and as a team member on larger system projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's or Associates degree with technical training in specialized areas, or relevant IT work experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in network-focused roles
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies like firewalls, routers, and switches; SonicWall, HPE, and Aruba preferred.
  • Cloud environment experience required: Microsoft Azure is preferred
  • Experience with training users on various applications
  • Exposure to VoIP phone system support
  • Must be on-call for company emergencies and be able to travel internationally when needed; active passport preferred
  • Ability to listen to many details and discern important information
  • Ability to perform operating system maintenance on multiple platforms recommended
