Network Engineer

Description

We are looking for network engineer with experience in a fast-paced, detail oriented position handling inbound requests and tier 1/tier 2 networking and network security incidents. The ideal candidate will have experience with routing, switching, L7 firewalling, and application delivery using Cisco, Meraki, Kemp, and Citrix products and will have excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills.

Purpose:

1. Assist in the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of an enterprise-class IT infrastructure focused on Cisco networking as well as Windows, Linux and Hybrid Cloud technologies to support a SaaS application.
2. Plan, design, analyze, maintain and provide Tier 2 technical support for the entire enterprise network.
3. Function as technical liaison to Zywave development teams.
4. Conduct research and evaluation of IT systems and make recommendations for improvement and innovation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Primary focus on implementation and support of a Network systems (WAN, LAN, Wireless, FW, IPS)
• Design, implementation and support of load balancing and web based WAF infrastructure.
• Oversee monitoring solutions including SolarWinds, Microsoft SCOM, other 3rd party and internal custom monitoring products.
• Assist with implementation and monitoring of iSCSI based Storage Area Networks.
• Assist with implementation and monitoring of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, RDP, and Hyper-V.
• Participate in the design, implementation and integration of a wide range of Cloud and hybrid cloud technologies including Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365 and more.
• Analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot problems in Zywave networking systems. Coordinate maintenance with the appropriate teams.
• Maintain and upgrade solutions based on enterprise concepts including disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Assist with onboarding and cross-training of others while staying abreast of industry knowledge.
• Document process and procedures as well as troubleshooting techniques to aid in the retention and dissemination of knowledge.
• Provide off-hours support, as needed, to support product updates, equipment upgrades, and address technical issues.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science plus at least 4 years of systems design/implementation experience or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
2. Cisco systems administration experience with ideal candidate having Cisco ISE, DNA, SD-WAN and Firepower experience. Cisco Certifications preferred.
3. Deep Understanding of Layer 2 and 3 IP routing, BGP, IGRP, VLANs and global routing technologies.
4. Experience with container networking on Docker and Kubernetes CNI. Experience with Calico container networking is a plus.
5. Experience with Hyper-V networking.
6. Experience with SAN iSCSI networks.
