Network Engineer

Kavaliro's client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Hybrid Network Engineer to join their team in St. Petersburg, FL. This role requires a professional with 4+ years of experience in network engineering, equipped with strong expertise in a variety of internetworking technologies and protocols. The ideal candidate will have a background in higher education and possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage complex network systems ensuring seamless and secure communication.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and support VLAN, STP, QOS, and other internetworking technologies.
• Manage and optimize routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, Static Routing, and Policy-Routing.
• Configure, stack, troubleshoot, and support network switches and routers.
• Ensure the security and efficiency of the network by configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting firewalls and network monitoring tools.
• Support and maintain enterprise-class wireless access points and utilize packet capture tools for network issue resolution.

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong understanding of internetworking technologies including VLAN, STP, and QOS.
• Proficiency in configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting BGP, OSPF, Static Routing, and Policy-Routing.
• Expertise in handling network switches and routers.
• Experience with firewalls, network monitoring tools, and enterprise wireless access points.
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues using packet capture tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
• Knowledge of Extreme Network switches.
• Familiarity with Ruckus Wireless solutions.
• Understanding of VPN/VOIP technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4+ years of experience as a Network Engineer.
• Experience in the higher education sector is preferred.
