Job Description

The network engineer is responsible for managing the network facilities of the FOD Finance. A consultant-engineer is expected to handle complex problems independently, set up new technologies, and improve existing network implementations. To achieve this, the network engineer works with the network team, the architecture team, and external partners.

The assignment primarily involves Cisco ACI, Fortinet, Meraki Wifi & MX, and VMware NSX-t.

List of generic competencies required:

• Translating general planning into concrete action plans;
• Ensuring transparent communication about the status of IT projects to the hierarchy/client and the project team;
• Assisting management in decisions on IT investments with detailed technical architecture proposals;
• Following up on assignments in SNOW;
• In case of service interruption, collaborating with Service Operation teams to find solutions and ensure that the required ICT services are restored, ensuring the continuity of the organization's operations.

Qualifications

List of required technical competencies:

• Good knowledge of Network Load Balancers (Citrix Netscaler, AVI, etc.);
• Experience with Meraki Wifi installations;
• At least 10 years of Cisco network management experience;
• Experience with network segmentation (North/South and East/West);
• Good knowledge of Linux;
• Experience with Ansible;
• Experience with Firewalls (Fortigate, Meraki MX);
• Good knowledge of IoT;
• Good knowledge of Software Defined Networking (ACI, NSX-t, etc.) - plus.

List of required business knowledge:

• Knowledge of tools used within Service Operations (Service NOW, JIRA, Cacti, Instana);
• Knowledge of English and at least one of the official national languages (Dutch or French)
