Salary

This job listing allows for candidates of varying skill levels to apply. Dispel salaries are dependent on skill and location of residence. For those residing in Austin, TX, expected salaries would be as follows:

  • Associate Engineer: $63-80k (straight out of school)
  • Network Engineer I: $81-101k (1-2 years of experience)
  • Network Engineer II: $89-111k (2-3 years of experience)

Requirements

Responsibilities

Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Network Engineer to join our Network and Security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our network infrastructure and security with a focus on VPNs, Security monitoring and SIEM.

Network Performance: Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance using state-of-the-art tools and techniques. Implement proactive measures to ensure optimal functionality 24/7.

Revolutionize Network Capabilities: Spearhead the enhancement of network capabilities for a cutting-edge, commercial-scale secure tunnel solution. Be at the forefront of transforming ideas into robust, secure, and scalable solutions.

Innovate and Collaborate: Collaborate cross-functionally to brainstorm, design, and implement innovative networking solutions. Work hand-in-hand with talented teams to foster an environment of continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications (desirable, but not required)

  • College degree preferred.
  • Linux Professional Institute (LPI), CompTIA Linux+, or comparable
  • Network Certification (Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, or better)
  • Cyber Security Certification (Security+, ISC2 CC, CySA+, OSCP)

Skills

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience, and willing to learn fast.
  • In Depth TCP/IP knowledge (Frame Formats, MSS, Window Sizing, Fragmentation, etc.)
  • LAN/WAN/SDN/SD-WAN
  • Network ACLs / Stateful Firewalls
  • NAT/PAT, Packet Manipulation
  • Linux (Iptables, Network Management, Routing, Packet Filtering and Analysis, etc.)
  • Experience with Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • Network virtualization
  • Familiarity with network design and architecture.
  • Low level knowledge of various VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based networking (Azure and AWS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities.
  • Communication and team culture are very important to Dispel. These criteria are soft, but just relax and be straightforward, and we will solve any issues together.
  • A passion for learning new disciplines and gaining a deep understanding of how others on the team do their work.
  • An ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both in-person and over team chat.
