This position is responsible for Credit Karma’s network infrastructure for all IT Corp services, both physical and cloud. The individual in this role will be responsible for design, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and administrative activities associated with the network infrastructure, including firewalls, LANs, WANs, switches, routers, wireless, VPN and Google Cloud virtual environments.

What You'll Do:

  • Network design, implementation and operation
  • Design and document network architecture for new projects and existing infrastructure
  • Perform administration of the networking infrastructure including firewalls, LANs, WANs, switches, routers, and VPN + other related network equipment in both on premise and cloud environments
  • Monitor network performance and reliability, proactively identify potential problems and make recommendations for upgrades and updates as necessary
  • Implement strong network security configurations, install firmware and software patches, remediate vulnerabilities, and research security incidents
  • Provide support for networking issues escalated from IT helpdesk and/or system administrators

Other Responsibilities:

  • Manage vendor support relationships, contracts, purchases, and design initiatives
  • Participate in on-call 24/7 rotation
  • Interface/liaison with IT, Employees, and  Workplace Services 
  • May require some travel for installs and support

Minimum Basic Requirement:

  • 3+ years of experience as a hands-on network engineer
  • Ability to architect/design complex systems for successful deployment and management
  • Experience with hosted environments such as AWS and Google Compute Engine
  • Strong background in firewall management, VPN, and Ipsec
  • Strong working experience with PaloAlto, Cisco and Juniper network devices
  • Configuration and management experience of Network management systems
  • Knowledge of code such as JSON, Python, and Ruby
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform, Rancid, or Ansible 
  • A strong drive when it comes to troubleshooting network performance issues
  • Self starter that can jump into action with high level context
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Advanced experience in supporting Campus networks and executing real estate build/expansion projects.
  • Experience working with Cloud providers using automation workflows. 
  • Working knowledge of Terraform, Python, Go, Ruby, JSON 
  • Familiarity with information security principles and best practices in virtual environments
