Summary

Simplot is seeking an experienced, highly motivated IT Manager in Boise, Idaho to lead a team of talented Network Engineers who provide a resilient, scalable, secure, and performant Global Network. We are looking for a dynamic leader with the ability to mentor and develop critical talent while driving technical engineering strategies in support of Simplot's infrastructure objectives. As a pillar of the Hybrid Cloud Engineering organization, the Network Engineering team designs and implements solutions that support Simplot's current and future business demands. This position offers a hybrid, collaborative environment with flexible office/remote workplace options.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the performance and development of a team of Network Engineers having a diverse level of technical expertise
• Develop innovative and forward-looking Network technology roadmaps governed by strategic direction, business requirements, resourcing, and financial constraints
• Drive a portfolio of projects, activities, processes, and initiatives to ensure targets and deadlines are achieved
• Implement Global network technology solutions that are cost effective, resilient, scalable, and meet performance expectations.
• Ensure all activities associated with the health, performance, and reliability of all network components and services in the global network, including capacity planning, availability, and performance are tracked and reported
• Ensure that network solutions meet Simplot's Information Security standards and policies across the Enterprise and Manufacturing business environment
• Stay current on emerging technologies and determine fit within Simplot's network roadmap and how it benefits the overall organizational strategy
• Oversees all change management and audit activities associated with the network environment including documentation, scheduled outages, and operational procedures
• Provide timely update of projects and issues to senior management
• Drive the adoption of development and release practices to deliver Infrastructure as Code / Configuration as Code and network automation
• Accountable for financial management of a Global Network budget and manage the portfolio of network vendor and partner relationships

Typical Education

• Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

• 10+ years related experience and/or training
• Strong ability to lead a technical team and to teach and mentor individual contributors
• Strong understanding of current and emerging security principles and methods
• Strong understanding of ITIL, CMDB, capacity, service and change management
• Strong understanding of Enterprise scale multi-site/country networking environments
• Strong understanding of Wireless Technologies, including wireless security and network authentication services
• Strong understanding of core network technologies (Juniper, HP)
• Strong understanding of firewall, VPN and IPS/IDS technologies (Palo Alto)
• Strong understanding of Hybrid Cloud networking and security (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, SASE, Equinix, Azure, AWS)
• Strong understanding of ingress, local/global load balancing, proxy, and application delivery controller technologies (Zscaler, F5, NGINX, HAProxy, etc.)
• Understanding of automation, configuration management and source code management
• Excellent communication and business engagement skills
