Zayo is hiring a Network Expense Intern to join our team. The Network Expense Intern position requires an analyst that can remain positive during stressful situations and changes in processes. Our Network Expense Intern role is the first level of escalation to a team of analysts that manage end to end life cycle of network expense costs. The life cycle includes invoice receipt, validation, disputes, and approval for the accounts payable team to make the payment.
*We're open to our Intern working in a hybrid capacity out of our Denver or Boulder, CO offices (Denver is preferred).
Responsibilities
Project 1 - Aged Disputes $6M (2014 - 2021)

• Provide support for the dispute team by requesting Service Order Agreements (SOA's) from vendors to use for reconciling. Focus on priority vendors with the highest volume/dollar of open disputes.
• Once a SOA is received, provide it to the dispute analysts to analyze if the disputes can be closed and upon receiving confirmation run bulk uploads for aged dispute closure followed by balancing entries in TEOCO (telecom expense management system).
• Assist the dispute analysts to follow up and keep track of Ticket Numbers (TTN's) they create in Salesforce (SF) for any lost disputes due to records not in SF. Ensure the records are created. Example - Equinix disputes.
• Work through the Inactive Bans (Account Numbers) with open disputes.

Project 2 - Ensure Salesforce records are in place for Allstream transferred Services

• Maintain and follow up on TTNs for creating expenses in Salesforce for all services moving from Allstream to Zayo.
• Maintain the Allstream Ban (Account Number) separation google spreadsheet with all updates on the circuits in process of transfer.
• Analyze the Monthly Recurring Charge (MRC) in Salesforce with what is billing on Allstream Bans to look for any corrections required at vendor end/re-terms/correction in Salesforce records.

Project 3 - Validate and Update Billing Entity on Invoices

• Provide support to Netex team in looking for vendors/accounts billing invalid entity names; companies that were acquired by Zayo and should be billing to Zayo Group LLC.
• Work with vendors to update billing entities and addresses on the invoices.

Qualifications

• Studying Finance, Economics, Accounting or related degree
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of Salesforce.com and TEOCO (telecom expense management system), preferred
• Accounting experience, preferred

Base pay range: $20.00/hour, commensurate with experience.
