Job Description
The Network Operations Manager is responsible for the operational stability of the enterprise network which includes datacenters, multiple cloud service providers, campuses, remote offices, branch locations and distribution centers.
This position will support the current network leader in providing technical expertise in all network related engineering and operational functions such as routing, switching, load balancing, VPN tunnels, performance analytics, triage and troubleshooting.
This position will require experience in the distribution and management of workload to onshore and offshore resources, ability to lead and facilitate outage calls and use enterprise solutions to ensure the stability and resiliency of the enterprise network.
Responsibilities
The Network Operations Manager will be responsible for providing operational support for Humana's enterprise network which spans across multiple lines of business from government, retail clinics and pharmacies, distribution centers to the traditional corporate campus and datacenters. The primary responsibility of the Network Operations Manager will be to provide the highest quality network infrastructure environment support by ensuring the network operations team is monitoring the performance and health of the enterprise network and running point as the restoration lead for the network team on outage calls.
The position will have the following responsibilities:
- Respond to escalations for all major and significant incidents (P0 - P2)
- Serve as a primary liaison for network operations partnering with other infrastructure teams such as the technical operations team (Level 1), server, storage, security, SRE and application teams
- Maintain and operate network solutions (routers, firewalls, switches, wireless, appliances) across the enterprise landscape with a focus on reliability, throughput, scalability, and security which will help us scale with the needs of the business
- Responsibility of network operations which supports over 1800 applications, 80K users, 300+ locations, multiple datacenters, multi-cloud environments
- Monitor and tune network infrastructure to identify and eliminate issues and potential bottlenecks
- Provide a level of escalation in response to incidents/requests regarding network performance and configuration, including off hours escalations
- Maintain network documentation, run-books, diagrams, and network assets in the configuration management database
- Develop and continually improve guidelines and procedures related to Network management including process and efficiency improvement
- Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards to improve our service offerings
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience leading a large network operations team
- 5 years of experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and improving wired, wireless, and complex High Availability Data Center Networks, Hybrid and Multi cloud Networks
- Practical application of current/emergent technologies, agile IT, ITIL, and continuous improvement practices and techniques
- Detailed skills and experience delivering network services, including all aspects of operations, maintenance, and change management
- In-depth knowledge and expertise applying data-driven practices and tools to deliver, manage and optimize service level and performance arrangements for customer relationship management, performance management, and IT network services domains
- Outstanding written and oral communications skills, and the demonstrated ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability lead and drive incident-based calls
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands on experience with cloud service providers Microsoft Azure, GCP and AWS
- Familiarity with cloud-native security and network solutions and tools in Azure, AWS and/or Google
- Certifications such as ITIL, CCNP Data Center/Routing and Switching
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, StealthWatch, BigPanda is a plus
- Project management skills related to IT systems projects including technology deployments, installs, migrations, and upgrades.
- Change agent with the ability to positively influence others to effectively adapt when necessary.
- High motivator of technical teams
Work at Home Guidance
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
- Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$104,800 - $144,250 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
