Job Description

The Gogo Business Aviation Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer provides support of network projects such as software or hardware upgrades, network expansion and data collection activities. You will perform health checks of network services and applications and develop testing methods to improve service availability. Utilizing scheduled health checks to ensure the environment is working as designed, you will work with peer groups to resolve any major issue observed to ensure system reliability and availability.

How will you make a difference?

  • Respond to phone, email, and chat inquiries from customers
  • Maintain tact and professionalism when interacting with the customer on any channel
  • Learn technical concepts specific to satellite networks, ATG networks, IP networks, server infrastructure, and applications
  • Responsible for using satellite network management, monitoring and trouble isolation tools and interpreting the results in order to successfully identify, understand and resolve network problems and improve network performance
  • Support of satellite network projects such as software or hardware upgrades, network expansion and data collection activities
  • Facilitate support for customers and field engineers and escalate issues as applicable
  • Perform remote level reporting for service quality and system performance
  • Complete neighbor list solutions for single or multi cell site outages using RFCON
  • Execute routine troubleshooting and corrective actions using the runbook guide
  • Receive detailed instructions from senior NOC engineers on work details
  • Be familiar with operational responsibilities of internal and external groups
  • Document and track customer issues through incident management system


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, IT, Network Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years' experience in a network operations center, ISP, wireless switching center (MSO/MTSO), data center, and/or satellite operations environment
  • Currently shift will be Monday-Friday 7 AM - 5 PM CST but candidate must be flexible to rotate to swing shift or a rotational schedule as needed


Required Skills, Experience and Talents

  • Thorough knowledge of satellite network monitoring best practices
  • Strong understanding of Internet related technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP), CDMA Wireless networking, and IT Infrastructure
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrates original thinking, openness to

Base Pay:
74,400.00 - 93,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 5% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
