Network Operations Engineer III

The Network Operations Engineer III is a position in the Networking Engineers job family. Under the guidance of more senior Networking Engineers, they provide a service to clients to ensure that their IT infrastructure and systems remain operational.
Scope: 

• Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
• Works on problems of moderate scope
• Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

• Working with multiple TAC vendors to fix the hardware issues
• Work with ISP/vendors on fixing any issues related to network 
• Support team in handling network and traffic peering for any incidents such as input errors, CRC, Capacity, Routing, Protocol, etc. 
• Work with remote hands to support and troubleshoot network issues.
• Handle traffic and any other queries raised by ISP/partners
• Report and escalate issues to 3rd party vendors if necessary.
• Maintain accurate time and records in all service tickets as performed.
• Communicate with customers as needed regarding ticket progress, changes, or agreed outages.
• Perform the necessary handover procedures

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 5 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.
• Understanding & experience in routing and switching technologies
• Experience with Content Delivery Networks and Internet Peering strategies.
• Good communication skills- you should be able to work with service providers and colocation facilities around the world.
• Builds productive internal and external working relationships
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• Understanding of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies
• Understanding of preparing root cause analysis for any network and server outages Programming and scripting capabilities 
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs around the world

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment 
• Network certifications, including server level certifications
• Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment
• Network certifications such as CCNA or JNCIA
• Basic scripting with python, and bash

Physical Demand & Work Environment:

• Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
• Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
• Must be able to use a computer
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively 
• Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

Salary Range

$91,580.00 - $144,600.00 USD (Salary)
