Network Reliability Architect

Position Description

Zayo is seeking to add an ambitious and highly technical architect to join our all star packet architecture team. The ideal candidate is deeply knowledgeable about Internet Protocol addressing/CIDR (both IPv4 and IPv6), carrier class network systems, and the necessary hardware and software to support performance and SLA measurement.

This is a hands-on position. The ideal candidate will be capable of researching, deploying and maintaining network software and hardware which will interrogate network systems and report on performance of the overall architecture down to the service layer for consumption by customer facing systems.

As a member of the Network Architecture team, you will be involved in creating processes and making recommendations to effectively scale the delivery of customer services. You will also provide input into the development of automation systems to streamline such tasks. You will have the opportunity to gain experience with the engineering and evolution of a global Tier-1 backbone network.

This position will also provide input into and execute on our SLA, Performance, and network security compliance by producing best practices, standards, and procedures.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Research and develop systems which support the operations and reliability of a Tier 1 IP Network 
• Assist is deployment, integration, and management of network reliability servers, software, and network systems.
• Develop and maintain SLA compliance standards
• Research and develop best practices for network reliability and standards compliance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Knowledge of Internet Protocol (both IPv4 and IPv6) addressing, subnetting, and CIDR.
• Knowledge of virtual machines, containers, and operational software to support network reliability and performance management.
• Knowledge and understanding of IP internetwork routing and familiarity with related technologies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience administering NMS/EMS and various performance monitoring systems and integration with CRM or workflow management systems.
• Any network related certifications are a plus, e.g. CCNA, JNCIA, etc.
• Base pay range: $75,500 - $105,682 commensurate with experience.
