Join us as a Network & Counterparty Relationship Management Analyst
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a RM Analyst to join our Network team. In this role you will support the management and oversight of provider relationships within BBH's global network of subcustodian and cash clearing banks, including principal trading, clearing and centralized depository relationships. You will assist in maintaining competitive arrangements and service levels with our network of banks and ensure our bank relationships and account arrangements are properly documented.
The RM Analyst will conduct formal due diligence reviews, review fees and contracts, ensure that our providers meet our service level requirements and provide support in particular during critical market related deadlines (e.g. end-of-day for US and foreign wire system closure). The RM Analyst also coordinates interactions between internal trading and operating departments and the external network of correspondent banks. The RM Analyst will develop subject matter expertise within the correspondent banking space serving as a resource for our internal partnerships.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Relationship Management• Identify and support competitive arrangements and service levels with subcustodian and cash clearing banks and act as a relationship contact• Act as a relationship contact for subcustodians/cash clearing banks and treasury counterparties• Conduct regular and ongoing monitoring of subcustodian/cash clearing banks• Maintain appropriate AML/KYC files• Assist in the issuance of RFPs and assessment of new providers in our global agent bank network• Coordinate with internal BBH departments, to ensure quality service levels and timely resolution of issues and inquiries• Facilitate support of new markets/new products through our agent bank network• Identify market risks and work with subcustodian banks and internal operating departments to develop ways to mitigate them
Due Diligence• Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of local market practices and regulations related to foreign exchange and payment activity for foreign investors• Monitor global market developments and understand the impact to BBH and our clients; closely coordinate with Network teams (RM, Risk, Markets) to ensure internal departments are advised of cash related market changes and bank events
Project Management• Leverage our correspondent bank relationships and cash and account opening expertise to support the cash needs of internal departments and overseas offices
Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree required• 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience• Strong operational understanding of the custody business, securities and foreign exchange markets, cash clearing and securities markets regulations and depositories, settlement, payment systems• Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships• Knowledge of the external competitive environment of the industry• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to ambiguity, competing demands and rapid change• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and solve problems, based on a balance of facts, experience and common sense• Excellent written and verbal skills
