Overall Purpose:

This position drives the use of the information security tool sets including IDS/IPS, Security posture assessment, proxy solutions, PKI infrastructure, and DLP. Partners on the integration of new tools, applies obtained knowledge for security tool enhancement. Supporting Early Warning staff usage of security tools. Owns security tools posture.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborates with the operations staff to ensure the Network Security tools are integrated into other corporate infrastructure.
• Gathers responses at the direction of management for auditors to ensure the security tools are supporting all compliance efforts
• Documents requirements for tools to meet needs that are not currently being met with the current toolsets.
• Tunes and maintains all tools owned by the Network Security team, and updates corresponding documentation.
• Ensures that tools assigned are running secure and stable code
• Assists with compliance questionnaires as needed.
• Assists the Network Security team in security incident resolution and risk evaluations.
• Contributes to the development of Early Warning security policy and procedures.
• Primary on-call in rotation with other Network Security Engineers to cover 24x7 response
• Train with Sr Network Security Engineering staff on EW tools management, ensuring functionality, and uptime.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience and/or Education typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's degree or 2 year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physical Science.
• Minimum 5 years of general IT experience.
• Minimum 3 years of IT security experience
• Competent ability to read, write, manipulate computer scripting (bat, bash, python, PowerShell).
• Competence of networking concepts including broadcast domains, routing, layer 2 and layer 3, .1q trunks, NIDS, NAT, PAT, and firewall administration.
• Competence of Windows Certificate Authority management and .1x authentication.
• Demonstrated competence with encryption technologies, encryption at rest and in motion, effective hashing algorithms.
• Demonstrated competence with operating system, application, network, and database security architectures.
• Demonstrated competence of proxies, multi factor authentication, log management solutions, and vulnerability management.
• Subject Matter Expert in 1 or more security tools operated by Early Warning
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Effective interpersonal skills, able to comfortably present to peers, coworkers, and customers.
• Competence in analyzing technical issues and making recommendations for corrective action.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands on with (*Network Security tool*)
• Demonstrated level 2 proficiency in bash/PowerShell scripting
• Certifications: 2 or more of CISSP, MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, Linux+, CISA or equivalent desirable.
• 3-6 years Unix/Windows administration background

Physical Requirements:

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
