Network Security Engineer (Remote)

Summary

Simplot has an opportunity available to join our IT Network Security Engineering team as an IT Network Security Engineer. This team is a pillar of the Simplot Hybrid Cloud Engineering organization and works closely with our Information Security team to implement solutions in support of Simplot security initiatives across our global enterprise application portfolio and factory IT/OT systems. This position offers a hybrid, collaborative environment with flexible office/remote workplace options.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain system configurations in compliance with IT architectural guidelines and Information Security policies.
• Implement, analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot network and security solutions.
• Create and maintain system documentation for new and existing solutions.
• Administrate firewall, load balancer and web proxy system configurations.
• Implement security policy with awareness and understanding of foundational data security concepts.
• Work with managed service providers to maintain security configurations and resolve issues.
• Work in a team environment, collaborating with other IT departments, business units or vendors/contractors around the globe to implement and maintain security solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with Simplot's Information Security objectives.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

• 1 - 5 years related experience and/or training
• Experience with firewall, VPN and IPS/IDS technologies from multiple vendors.
• Recent experience with Palo Alto Networks capabilities and technologies.
• Understanding of local/global load balancing and application delivery controller technologies. (Citrix NetScaler, F5, NGINX, HAProxy, etc.)
• Knowledge of current and emerging security principles, frameworks and methods (NIST, CIS).
• Understanding of ITIL, CMDB, capacity, service and change management.
• Knowledge of Hybrid Cloud networking and security (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, SASE, Equinix, Azure, AWS).
• Knowledge of OT security and Purdue model in relation to factory industrial control systems.
• Working knowledge of forward proxy technologies and services such as Zscaler.
• Knowledge of wireless security and network authentication services such as 802.1x and Clearpass.
• Knowledge of automation, configuration management and source code management.
• Excellent communication and business engagement skills.
• The inclination to continuously learn and to evolve your technical skills.
• The desire to work on challenging, global solutions and drive solutions which support security objectives

Position Pay Range: $95,000-110,000
