Responsible for supporting various aspects of IT operations and support at AssetWorks in Wayne, PA. Installs, modifies and executes minor repairs to desktop computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to users. Capable of managing end-user requests, troubleshooting issues with hardware, software, applications and assisting with network issues.

Job Summary:

Monitor day-to-day operations of an organization's computer network. Aid in installing hardware and software for all the systems. Oversee connectivity and performance of the network. Technicians need to interact with clients and their team members to develop and deploy new security strategies to make sure that all systems and data are secure. Execute network best practices to meet the technological requirements of an organization.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Possess skills for installing operating systems, such as Windows, Unix or macOS, and network components.
• Conversant with networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, and SMTP, among others.
• Assess PCs/ laptops, hardware and software of the network, servers, and other devices to identify potential issues.
• Install, maintain, resolve, and examine network cabling.
• Troubleshoot issues to ensure that computers and network equipment are always up and working.

• Conversant with network management and network ecosystem.
• Keep abreast of new network technologies to suggest improvements to network systems and infrastructure.
• Capable of explaining technical issues to personnel belonging to non-technical backgrounds.
• Partner with the system administrators and information technology support teams.
• Perform repairs and replacements of software and hardware peripherals.

• Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer/Information Science preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of laptop hardware and software components.
• Certification in A+, MCSE or CCNA would be beneficial.

• Ability to working effectively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Exceptional planning, time management, and excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.
• Ability to establish good working relationships with clients.
