Networking Engineer

Support and maintain the networking infrastructure of the terminal.

Purpose Of the Role

Support and maintain the networking infrastructure for the terminal.

Work with Regional and Global teams to execute on the modernization, standardization, and security agenda of the networking infrastructure.

Job content & execution

• Support and maintain the networking environment
• Implement and execute remote network monitoring
• Resolve networking incidents within agreed SLA's
• Implement change on networking environment without unplanned service interruption
• Ensure optimum health and operation of networking systems and environment
• Ensure full compliance to cyber security configurations and standards
• Provide 7x24 robust, secure and cost-efficient networking infrastructure services
• Keep up to date with new networking technologies and how this enables new industrial technologies

Accountable For

• 7x24 availability of the terminal network
• Incident resolution within agreed SLA's
• First time right change management, without causing unplanned network interruptions
• Ensuring secure networking configurations in line with APMT standards and policies
• Execution of global networking change programs
• Using proper monitoring tools to provide full visibility to IT Operations and the business.
• Work with other departments to troubleshoot communication issues from
• Impact of new networking and industrial technology implementations
• Creating and maintaining network flow diagrams for all business applications that meet industry standards.
• Using Service Now for incidents or network requests within local IT SLAs.

Parameters for success

• Service delivery - ensure network availability, performance, scalability, incident & problem management, SLA compliance
• Compliance - ensure compliance to cyber security, data policies and controls
• Ensure Network Infrastructure availability
• Being able to work with different operational departments to ensure applications perform as expected.

Critical competencies

• Shift work is needed. Rotation every 8 weeks (manager discretionary)
• In-depth knowledge and expertise on industry standard networking technologies and standards
• Experience in designing and implementing secure network solutions (WLAN/LAN/WAN)
• Wireshark
• Use of monitoring tool such as Cisco Prime, Solarwinds or similar
• Ability to work with vendors to test / clean fiber
• History of providing architectural review/planning of network physical topology.
• Ability to troubleshoot wireless networks (802.11 & Private LTE) using Airmagnet or similar.
• Create and maintain network flow diagrams for all business applications
• Ability to multitask between different network related projects and incidents
