I am pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity within our New Business Operation. Earlier this year we welcomed the advisory operations group into the larger annuity operational teams. Given that expansion and the continued emphasis to provide a consistent, extraordinary partner experience, we have created a new director role on my team.
This director role will report to me and have leadership for the following teams:

Job Description Summary

As a Director, you'll have oversight of day-to-day operations and administration, ensuring that an outstanding service experience is provided to our internal and external sales partners, firms, third-party administrators, producers and customers. You'll be responsible for adhering to and enforcing all financial controls, as well as legal and regulatory guidelines and regulations.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Associate Vice President or Vice President. Typically manages a team of three to 10 associates directly and may have indirect reports.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in business administration, management, finance, pre-law or related field and/or technical insurance coursework preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 6 and 26 licenses may be required.
Experience: Typically, 10 years of financial services experiences in a customer service, quality control or operations environment. Supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Extensive knowledge of insurance industry concepts including, but not limited to, financial services products, regulations and guidelines. Effective team leadership and management skills. Sophisticated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present to external audiences. Ability to build relationships.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs department roles and responsibilities. Responsible for the day-to-day operational and staff management of process programs. Provides direction to and guidance to strategic operational activities while ensuring all projects, tasks and activities are aligned with the company standards and strategies and compliance guidelines.
- Directs staff participation in major projects and task teams. Supervises the development and establishment of process improvements that enhance delivery of services to customers aligned with industry and regulatory requirements.
- Drives a culture of coaching and feedback for personal and professional guidance. Develops talent in the organization for succession planning and handles all performance management tasks and related functions for team.
- Directs the development and delivery of education of current processes and procedures with customers. Provides staff leadership to build and strengthen relationships through presentations, firm and/or direct advisor contact.
- Supervises the activities and staff responsible for monitoring work flow to ensure all functions are completed in a timely manner and meet quality standards. Directs staff who responds to service issues and calls. Directs call team and client relationship activities to ensure outstanding service.
- Directs staff responsible for implementing enacted regulations for products and procedures; ensuring Operations is prepared and advised of audits/regulatory/legislative changes in a timely manner. Mentors, educates and trains others on partnering with appropriate teams or individuals for the coordination of responses to audits or regulatory matters. Serves as advisor for leaders, peers and team members on regulatory matters. Provides subject matter expertise related to responses to regulatory agency reports and findings and works closely with Compliance to resolve any issues.
- Directs activities of a staff involved in the design, development, configuration, customization, deployment, maintenance and upgrading of a wide variety of business processes and procedures. Provides overall direction and strategic guidance regarding identification of key opportunities to enhance and align to ensure consistency and adherence to regulatory requirements. Provides mentoring and leads a staff who devise and/or modify procedures and technology needs.
- Directs expense management and leads development of solutions to streamline process and reduce operating expenses.
- Provides strategic oversight to a staff responsible for providing accurate and timely producer onboarding or compensation payment processing, as well as strict adherence to financial controls and regulatory requirements if requested.
- Provides, as requested, strategic oversight for an underwriting staff to ensure underwriting practices and procedures in order to achieve satisfactory experience and acceptable administrative results.
