This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home.

*Will train in-office 100%, then move to hybrid.

The New Business Representative is responsible for customer service, processes cases, issuance of policies, and knowledge of all products and plans under Disability Income Insurance.

What you do

  • Research of customer needs and problems; development of informed, innovative solutions; and decisive action within defined parameters of authority; to build customer loyalty while maintaining the financial and procedural integrity of the case. This includes pro-actively calling customers.
  • Field customer inquiries and utilize empathy and patience with all customers.
  • A working knowledge of the functions and systems across the organization as they relate to administrative functions.
  • Communicate to producers/customers in conjunction with supporting their various cases.
  • Meeting or exceeding service standards with respect to accuracy, turnaround time and overall quality of work product and service
  • Responsible for account reconciliation, utilizing appropriate system.
  • Correspond with Legal and Compliance departments as necessary for assistance in handling complex cases and customer complaints.
  • Must accurately interpret and fulfill all requirements necessary for accurate processing, follow current procedures in accordance with industry/state regulations, internal/external audit recommendations, and compliance directives.
  • Must stay abreast to product and case education and associate training/coaching; identify and resolve system/processing related issues.
  • Handle and complete special assignments and projects within provided timeframes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0-2 years of related experience required.
  • Previous experience in customer service is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the financial services or insurance industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Disability Income Insurance a plus
  • Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment and problem solving in a professional area.
  • Experience in production-oriented environment where productivity and quality is preferred and possess a strong commitment to driving down turnaround time.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed to meet business needs.
  • Prior experience with or quick ability to effectively learn various computer software applications.
