New Product Design & Development Engineer

We have operations in Saint Louis, Missouri, Huntington Beach, California, and Milford, Connecticut, serving local, national and international customers, both military and commercial. The company supplies platform controls, aircraft components, liquid oxygen equipment, and emergency breathing equipment to its customers.

Position Summary:

Designs and develops new products and product improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

• Evaluates, analyzes and makes recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.
• Procures materials needed to construct prototypes and supervises the design engineering of new models.
• Plans and develops test programs for prototypes.
• Analyzes, evaluates, sources, and coordinates the procurement of new materials to support model changes.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes.
• Performs technical analysis of competitive products.
• Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customers support.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
• Creates Bill of Materials and Drawings.
• Works with limited supervision and is capable of leading projects.
• Prepare, review, and approve technical drawings and documents.
• Knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to Bachelor's degree in engineering related field and 2-10 years of equivalent engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
