Department Overview
Motorola Solutions’ Managed & Support Services (M&SS) organization is responsible for all aspects of sustainment of Government First Responder mission-critical communications infrastructures and associated devices, including land mobile radio, E911, computer-aided dispatch, and command center voice, video, and data technologies. Sustainment of these technologies includes network and security monitoring, product maintenance and repair, in-field outage response, preventative maintenance, and technology upgrade subscriptions. The services are delivered through an ecosystem of roles, including Customer Support Managers (CSM), System Managers, Field Service Delivery specialists, and Field Service Technicians.Job Description
The candidate must live within commuting distance of the five NYC boroughs.
This role will be responsible for delivering on MSI’s Maintenance Agreement by coordinating with the local service provider in all maintenance activities. In addition, this person will be responsible for looking for and growing MSI’s role in providing additional services for this customer.
The System Manager/Technical Consultant’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create, track, and update release plans for security updates.
Develop Methods of Procedure (MOP), plan/schedule, and oversee the execution for Motorola Solutions patches pertaining to the Motorola Solutions equipment covered under the contract.
Develop MOPs, plan/schedule, and oversee the execution for Third Party Software Patches as related to the third-party systems covered under the contract. This includes Microsoft, LINUX, Aviat, and Nokia.
Track the impact of security updates and patches on existing hardware.
Manage configuration of firewalls, Intrusion Detection Sensors (IDS), authentication, and logging servers.
Work with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to identify network vulnerabilities and abnormal activity.
Work with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to perform advanced behavioral analytics for internal data theft and extrication.
Ensure the customer information portal is updated and current with respect to security-related items.
Coordinate resources for work related to security.
Monthly generation of a Security Report and meeting with customer Network Security representatives.
Maintain and implement the MSI/Customer Security Escalation Process.
Additional Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a services business, displaying an understanding of the principles of service operations and customer support.
3+ years of program management experience, including customer-facing experience.
Conversant in cyber security principles, including security patching, security monitoring activities, and threat intelligence concepts.
Ability to develop relationships and collaborate with customer Network Security teams and MSI internal cybersecurity organizations.
Coordination:
• Work with Customer and Motorola Sales Account Executive to formulate future communications requirements
• Work with Customers, Service Partners, Motorola System Engineers, and third-party contractors to review design recommendations for upgrades, additions, modifications, and/or improvements to the radio communications system to insure compatibility
• Work with Motorola Account Executive to identify new sales opportunities
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Salary Range: $85K - $95K
Basic Requirements
- Associate's Degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Engineering or Computer Science, and 3+ years of related work experience in IT, Networking, Public Safety, Cyber Security, or Information Technology.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
