News Editor

POLITICO is seeking a skilled, experienced editor to help lead overall news coverage in the evenings, working with politics and policy teams across the newsroom to coordinate and edit news.

The editor would be involved in assigning stories, coordinating coverage of events and editing breaking news and enterprise offerings for all platforms.

This senior-level editor will work from Monday through Friday roughly 3 pm-11 pm ET to ensure we have a robust comprehensive report throughout the evening and for the morning.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure POLITICO has a compelling news and enterprise offerings across all of our digital platforms
• Organize coverage of evening news and events, working closely with audio and video teams
• Work with political and policy editors and reporters across the newsroom with editors and reporters in different cities and countries.

What You'll Need:

• Significant experience editing breaking news and enterprise stories
• Proven ability to handle a demanding job in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Excellent news judgment and a rigorous commitment to fair-minded, nonpartisan journalism
