WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As part of the North America Women's Sports Marketing team, the Director of Olympics and Paralympics will pioneer and implement the dual gender strategic plan for NA Olympics Sports Marketing! We are seeking an experienced people manager who can navigate a portfolio of internal and external relationships to help guide Nike's strategic investment.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will manage the North America Olympic and Paralympic portfolio! You will be responsible for creating and driving strategies that support the NIKE brand and business. You will negotiate endorsement agreements with athletes, agents and/or other partners and work with closely with NIKE's legal team to guide the contract process through execution. You will work with internal partners to ensure accurate and timely payments.
You will manage the partnership with U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Properties (USOPP) and ensure contractual obligations are met and the partnership is applied across the business.
You will lead a team who will manage relationships with our athletes, National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and other partners and will facilitate the product creation process to help drive innovation, performance and style both on and off the field of play.
You will support the Women's and Men's Sports Marketing Brand and Athlete Experience offense, aligning vision, strategy and plans across key cities to help drive Olympic and Paralympic sports as growth drivers, optimizing our contractual rights to strengthen our connection with the consumer and grow the business.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will be the primary contact for Olympic, Paralympic and non-traditional sports. Externally, you will work with partners such as USOPP, USOPC, LA28, NGBs and other Olympic and Paralympic partners. Internally, you will work primarily with our Product Teams, Legal, Finance, Global Sports Moments and Licensing teammates as well as the leads in both Women's and Men's Sports Marketing.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years combined marketing, advertising, sports marketing, retail, sales and product experience with a high profile, global brand organization
- Ability to represent NIKE in high level external meetings
- Strong negotiating and contract management skills
- Extensive budget management experience
- Experience managing a team
- Extensive knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic movement
- Extensive NIKE knowledge strongly preferred
- Proven ability to drive business excellence throughout the product servicing process by creating and adopting best practices to optimize efficiency
- Ability to direct the resolution of business problems and challenges
- Ability to travel 15% of the time
